On Dec 10, 2011 Lapdog Entertainment will begin production on a feature documentary about the brilliant music career of rapper Snoop Doggy Dogg titled “Soul Survivor.”

“Soul Survivor” tells the story of the musical evolution of rapper Snoop Dogg. Our program take audiences back to Snoops humble beginnings in Long Beach, California where he roamed the streets as a member of the notorious gang “The Crip’s” to being discovered by former NWA front man Dr. Dre.

We will show how Snoop’s new brand of music back in 1991 changed hip-hop from pop driven tunes by MC Hammer that dominated dance clubs ─ to Snoops slippery delivery that helped usher in a new era of cool known as the “G Funk Era”.

“Soul Survivor” will chronicle the many careers of Snoop from pitchman, producer, and actor to his times in turmoil on Death Row Records and his unfortunate turn as a No Limit soldier on Master P’s former record label.

We will learn about the many facets of Snoop Dogg, the music he listens to, what he does in his spare time and how he has remained relevant in hip-hop that changes it direction constantly.

We will talk about his numerous musical collaborations and being sought out for more duos from brand new artists like Katy Perry and Justin Bieber looking for the opportunity to be put on by “the Dogg Father.”

“Soul Survivor” will be a one-hour documentary about the maturation of an artist who has grown from gangsta rap on the streets of Los Angeles to taking his music all the way to the royal court in England.

The program also will be about a man who has led hip-hop to new heights, about a father who takes time out to coach his son’s football team and who still carries the banner of hip-hop while growing into an affable elder statesman role.

In the end, “Soul Survivor” will be about one artist’s career of excellence and his uncanny knack for keeping his music hot and his celebrity shining as bright as it was when he arrived on the scene 20 years ago.
